Our story
We're a small team of travel obsessives in Calgary. We've spent nearly two decades figuring out what makes a trip transcend a vacation, and we put that into every itinerary that goes out the door.
Customer first, service-oriented
Royal Holidays was founded in 2008 with a simple, almost stubborn idea — that the travel agent, that supposedly disappearing profession, was actually about to become more valuable than ever. As the internet flooded travelers with options, what people would need most was someone to help them choose well.
Seventeen years later, we still believe it. Every itinerary that leaves our office is built by a human who knows the destination, knows our partners on the ground, and knows what kind of trip you'll remember in twenty years.
We have particular strengths — Asia, Europe, Canadian luxury — and we have relationships in places most agencies don't, including direct partner offices in Guangdong, Guangzhou, and Hong Kong. But what we really sell is care. The flight that got rebooked before you knew it was canceled. The restaurant reservation in Kyoto that was supposedly impossible. The 3 a.m. call when something needs to be quietly handled.

Ivy Yang founds the company with a small office on Centre Street and a roster of three Canadian rail and motorcoach itineraries.
Partner offices established in Guangdong, Guangzhou, and Hong Kong — the start of our role as a true Canada–Asia bridge.

Dedicated cruise and corporate-travel desks launched to serve growing demand from past clients.
Internal travel-planning tools now use machine learning to surface partner inventory and pricing in seconds — letting our designers spend more time on craft.
